Take a Peek Into a Kreg Joint

The Kreg Customer Service Team gets a lot of questions about choosing the correct screw for a given material thickness. There are guides that came with your Kreg Jig®, and are also included on every package of Kreg Screws, but it can still be very useful to get a look INSIDE the joint and understand why each screw is chosen. Sometimes, seeing the measurements can help you decide whether you can go with a slightly longer screw, or a slightly shorter screw depending on variations in your wood!Below, take a look inside 16 different Kreg Joints™ and take note of the recommended settings. You can also print this chart off for future use by clicking on the ‘download PDF’ button. As always, it’s recommended to construct one or two test joints before assembling your final project, especially when joining workpieces of dissimilar thickness. Test your joints and make sure your settings are correct before driving screws in your actual project.
