Thicknesser
Thicknessers are used to quickly remove a large amount of surface material from the workpiece. Excellent for ensuring all the boards are the same thickness before further work. Machines are typically heavy and create large amounts of dust.
Handheld Planers
For smaller work, handheld planers are used to remove excess stock off of boards. The amount of materiel to be removed can be set, and the machine is moved over the workpiece by hand.
Hand Planes
For light and accurate work, hand planes are favoured by craftsman as they allow a large amount of control. Different shapes and sizes are available.
